Mouth sores, also sometimes known as mouth ulcers are infections that occur inside the mouth. These can be very painful. These can take form of cold sores, fever blisters, or herpes simplex. A person feels irritation before developing a sore. Generally the roof of mouth sores happen because of consuming very hot foods.
What causes mouth sores?
These can be caused by various mouth infections or bacteria if you do not take care of your hygiene.
If you are feeling pain, or you notice that there is a swelling in your mouth, you should know that you are having a mouth sore. You would know you are having it when you experience the following symptoms along with pain;
Dry mouth: this a very well-known symptom. This means that your body is dehydrated.
Blisters: mouth sores can also give rise to forming blisters inside your mouth or outside your mouth around the lip area.
How to heal a mouth sore?
Gargle with salty water
If you are having a sore at the roof of your mouth, salty water would do wonders in healing it faster for you. Salty water kills all germs and bacteria residing inside your mouth. Take a glass of warm water and mix some salt into it. Stir it, and gargle with the solution. Repeat the process for a few days to get rid of the sore.
Use Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera has been known for its healing and soothing properties over the years. It is best for treating anything. You can also use the bottled aloe Vera gel, but it is better to take a natural aloe leave and extract the gel out of it because it would not contain any chemical. Apply the gel to the affected area several times a day for a week and your sore will definitely be gone.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a life savior when it comes to mouth sores. You can also apply it inside your mouth to get rid of any sores present at the roof of mouth. Take a drop of oil and mix it into three drops of water. Put it inside your mouth for good 30 seconds and then throw it out.
Take an ice cube, wrap it in a clean cloth and apply onto the infected area. This will give a cooling sensation to your infection and it will take less time in healing. Continue doing this for a few days and you will see your sore getting better.
Honey is best for mouth sores. It provides moisture to the infected area and it is said to kill bacteria.
Include soft foods in diet
Hard foods can cause you pain when they touch the infected area. Therefore, adding soft foods to diet will ensure speeding up the healing process.
Take care of hygiene
Brush your teeth in the morning and at night before going to sleep to prevent mouth sores from happening.
